What A Time To Be Alive by Ray Printer Friendly

I am sitting in a hospital room, waiting for my son to be born, and updating The Strangelands on my phone. Good old technology.

I am surrounded by things that beep and hiss, and there's a monitor in the corner that fills the room with the sound of my unborn child's heartbeat.

Chopped is playing on the TV attached to the wall, and I find myself watching, despite the fact that I'm completely uninterested in it, even as the nurse comes in to adjust monitors and blankets.

I'll be honest: it's been a pretty strange morning.

Life-changing events are weird.
