I Got Surprised By December Because It Is Obviously Just Like A Ninja by Ray Printer Friendly

I'm a little surprised that it's December. More than a little surprised, actually. I wanted to have my book not only proofed, but uploaded by December. For some reason, I though I had another week. I don't really have any rational reason to think that, I just did.

But instead, here we are, in December, and I still have jack shit done. So hooray for me and my amazing ability to procrastinate. If only it was a unique talent, instead of the chosen skill of the failure.

But enough of that. It's a new month, we should be excited! We're almost done with this year, and whether it was a good one or bad one, the end of the year is always kind of a cool thing to me.

The holidays are here, and I have mixed feelings about that. I still have enough residual hope and idiocy from childhood to get excited, but the more I live as a grown up, the more it just seems kind of like a pain in the ass.

I still try to be upbeat about it, though, because I like a party, and this time of year is festive as hell, even if it is a little annoying at times.

So what's going on around here this month? I don't know, for sure. I'm done promising a new Portly Boy story, because obviously I can't deliver. I hesitate to promise even a short story, considering how much shit I need to get done before the end of the year. Heck, I'm lucky I managed to get this first of the month news post, really.

News for the rest of the month: hopefully I'll have this latest book out soon. Probably not in time for the holidays, though, so if you're looking for Christmas presents, just go ahead and buy one of my earlier books. I suggest Not Quite Hate, because that's the one that everyone seems to dig the most. Or just get all three, to play it safe. You'll be a hero for it, trust me.

What else? Heck man, I don't know. The usual, probably. It doesn't look like I'll be heading home for the holidays, so there will probably be some bitching about that, and about how I hate that it never snows in Austin. And then my allergies will probably get bad, and I'll bitch about that all the way into January.

So, yep, good stuff this month. I'm glad you're here for it.

Thanks for the heads up... I'll be sure and talk up the holiday with the family, and whatever snow we get, and how allergy-free we all are up here in the Midwest. I'm looking forward to the month more than EVER, now!

Bitch away, brother. Allergies can make you that way.
