Parasites and jackals
Scavenging gloriously
Faces painted with gore
Constantly looking left and right
Concerned only with getting their share
Having more, having the most
Aggressively defending their small sphere
No matter the expense to others.
Buzzards circle lazily
Praying for and celebrating
The collapse of any other being
No matter what, no matter who
Thinking only of themselves
The hunger in their bellies,
In their minds
Rendering them incapable of compassion.
Mankind
Scavenging gloriously
Circling lazily
Self-absorbed
Fueled by the hunger in its mind
Foolishly believing
That the prize to be obtained
Is immortality.
