Why I Love Photoshop by Ray Printer Friendly

I recently bought Adobe Photoshop. I’ve heard that you can do the same stuff with open source software like Gimp

I tried Gimp and ended up frustrated—mostly because I had no idea what I was doing. Had I started out using Photoshop, I think I would have ended up just as frustrated. Instead, I ended up paying a shitpile of money to take a Photoshop class. The stuff I learn in class is useful, but I get the feeling they have to cater to the dipshits who barely know how to work a computer. Which means that instead of learning how to rock the world, you end up learning how to save a file. I’m exaggerating, of course, but not by much.

One thing that’s pretty awesome is that part of the class is to look up tutorials on your own. So you can find shit you want to learn, like how to make a light-saber. Or you can change a picture like this:

into this:

or this:

or this:

Maybe I just like it because it offers me yet another way to screw with reality.

Chin down, dude. Always pose chin down, preferably with a 20-30 degree tilt to the head. Trust me. Genetically speaking, we're dealing with the same neck area. We tilt and turn. ...Unless you were GOING for the "Police Line-up - I could be the next Charlie Manson" look, then you nailed it, man.

That picture was an old one I found on my hard drive. I believe it might have been meant as a "before" picture when I thought I would be losing weight. I'm not sure about the chin down and turn thing--the entire picture would be nothing but my double chin...along with all my other chins.
